Thoughts.On.NYFW.Thus.Far

So I've been woefully bad at keeping up my blog recently ... blame the london life! But NYFW is now in full swing and some of the collections are too compelling not to write about. So here goes!

First off I'm so glad that colour is still on the runways, after the seemingly uncensored colour stories of the summer collections this year, which I LOVED, I thought designers might retreat back into muted colour palettes to compensate for their extravagance.  Thankfully this is not the case colours sit happily next to blacks and beiges to keep them relevant for the winter.

Heavier fabrics like velvets and knits are used to off set the jewel colour notes in the Carlos Miele A/W collection, along with the anticipated return of fur on the runways.

I think this look is my favourite it just sits perfectly for me.

I know it's a controversial issue but I will admit I'm a bit of a fur fanatic. It can turn any boring outfit into something that feels luxurious and special, which for me is the mark of a great piece of clothing, but you've got to sleep at night so vintage furs are the way to go for the ethically minded!!

Dennis Basso Is evidently a fur fanatic too, lots and lots of it in his collection...

Monique Lhuiller embraced intricate lace work, prints and metallic fabrics in her collection to create a striking yet feminine look.

Just a snippet of whats happening I will bring you lots more!!!
